About Our Customer
A well-established Fire and Security provider with over 30 years in the sector is hiring an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer for its South East London field service team. The work centres on servicing and fault finding across fire alarm, CCTV, access control and intruder alarm systems in commercial buildings, through planned maintenance and reactive calls, with every site kept compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.

Salary and Benefits - Fire & Security Service Engineer

• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Basic salary of up to £45,000
• Time and a half for overtime during the week, double time on Sundays
• Fully electric company van with personal use
• Travel time paid once you pass the first 30 minutes each way
• Door to door pay for call outs, at overtime rates
• Training provided by the company to keep your technical knowledge up to date
• Commercial sites only, with no domestic work

Key Responsibilities - Fire & Security Service Engineer

• Keep accurate documentation and records, completed on time
• Diagnose and repair faults on fire alarm, CCTV, access control and intruder alarm systems and associated equipment, whether on a reactive call or a planned visit
• Complete routine servicing, testing and inspection to the relevant legislative and quality standards
• Attend company-initiated training
• Work to high health and safety standards on every site
• Deliver planned preventative maintenance, plus additional small works

Skills and experience - Fire & Security Service Engineer:

• Fire alarm experience is the main requirement
• Experience servicing fire and security systems in a similar role, including planned maintenance, reactive calls and small works
• Proven fault-finding ability
• Service, test and inspection experience to the relevant standards and codes
• Good working knowledge of health and safety requirements
• Desirable: experience with a major fire and security service contractor on comparable work
