Do you hold an NVQ in Thermal Insulation but don't currently have a TICA Skill Card?

We're looking for experienced Thermal Insulation Engineers who may be eligible to complete a TICA Competency Assessment after joining our team in Portsmouth.

Key Dates

  • Expected site start: October
  • TICA Competency Assessment: To be completed after starting on site

Pay Rates

  • Basic rate: £19.04 per hour
  • Tier 2 allowance: Additional £6.00 per hour
  • Total standard hourly rate, including Tier 2 allowance: £25.04
  • Overtime andtimes; 1: £28.56 per hour
  • Overtime andtimes; 2: £38.08 per hour
  • Nightshift: £28.56 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Install thermal insulation to pipework, ductwork, ventilation systems and equipment
  • Measure, cut and fit insulation materials accurately
  • Work from technical specifications and instructions
  • Complete all work safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards
  • Inspect completed work and report any defects or concerns
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Follow all company and site health and safety procedures
  • Work effectively as part of the wider project team

Assessment Requirements

To be considered for the TICA Competency Assessment, applicants must provide:

  • An up-to-date CV
  • A copy of their Thermal Insulation NVQ
  • Relevant references
  • Evidence of at least four years' industry experience

Please note that the original NVQ certificate must be presented at the training centre in Darlington.

Security Clearance Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to successfully complete BPSS checks and obtain SC clearance.

The SC clearance process may include:

  • Successful completion of the Baseline Personnel Security Standard
  • Completion of a security questionnaire
  • Departmental and company records checks
  • Checks of spent and unspent criminal records
  • Credit and financial history checks
  • Security Service records checks
  • An interview where further information or clarification is required
  • A financial questionnaire where unresolved financial concerns are identified
  • Checks involving relevant third parties listed on the security questionnaire
