Ready for a fresh start in a Bury primary school?
If this half term has made you rethink where you're teaching, you're not alone. Half term is a natural moment to ask what you want from the next term. A new school, the flexibility of supply or a permanent role, we can help you find it.
About Empowering Learning
We're an education recruitment agency that places qualified teachers and support staff in schools across Greater Manchester. We get to know each teacher properly, so we can suggest schools that suit your experience, your style and your availability. As your employment business, we look after your registration, compliance, placements and pay, leaving you free to teach.
The opportunity
We're growing our Manchester teaching pool and want to hear from primary teachers with QTS who'd like to work in Bury and nearby towns. Our schools range from small village primaries to large academies with several classes per year group. The type of work is up to you:
- Daily supply: work the days you want, with flexibility built around your life
- Long-term supply: block bookings, including maternity and absence cover, so you can settle in with one class
- Permanent roles: tell us what you're looking for and we'll help you find the right school and guide you through the process
Either way, you'll have a named consultant who learns what matters to you and matches you to the right schools.
What the role involves
- Deliver well-planned, engaging lessons that follow the national curriculum and any planning the school provides
- Work across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2, in the key stages that suit your experience
- Promote positive behaviour and apply each school's behaviour policy consistently
- Keep your classroom safe, inclusive and welcoming for every child
- Track pupil progress, mark work and give feedback in line with the booking
- Work with the SENCo and teaching assistants to support pupils with SEND and EAL
- Follow school procedures on safeguarding, health and safety and conduct
- Pass any safeguarding concern straight to the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
- Build good working relationships with staff, school leaders and, where needed, parents and carers
