Steel Fixer - PlymouthLocation: Plymouth
Duration: Long-term work
Basic Rate: £24.26 per hour
Overtime 1: £36.39 per hour
Overtime 2: £48.52 per hour
We are currently looking for experienced Steel Fixers to join a major long-term construction project in Plymouth.Duties will include:andmiddot; Cutting, bending and fixing reinforcement steel in accordance with drawings and specifications
andmiddot; Fixing steel reinforcement, mesh and associated materials
andmiddot; Reading and interpreting reinforcement drawings and schedules
andmiddot; Tying reinforcement using appropriate tools and techniques
andmiddot; Installing reinforcement for concrete structures, slabs, walls and foundations
andmiddot; Working closely with formwork, concrete and site teams
andmiddot; Ensuring reinforcement is positioned correctly prior to concrete pours
andmiddot; Using hand and power tools associated with steel fixing
andmiddot; Maintaining high standards of health and safety on siteCompetencies / Requirements:andmiddot; Level 2 NVQ in Steel Fixing
andmiddot; CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card
andmiddot; Safety Critical Medical
andmiddot; Previous experience working as a Steel Fixer on construction or civil engineering projects
andmiddot; Ability to read and work from reinforcement drawings and schedules
andmiddot; Good understanding of steel fixing and reinforcement techniques
andmiddot; Ability to work effectively as part of a busy site team
andmiddot; Must be able to meet the project's BPSS security clearance requirementsSecurity Clearance RequirementsDue to the security-sensitive nature of the project, all successful applicants will be required to complete BPSS security clearance before starting on site.Applicants must be able to provide the required documentation and information to successfully complete the vetting process, including proof of identity, right to work and employment/history checks.Due to the project's security requirements, applicants must meet the required nationality eligibility criteria, including being a national of a NATO member country where applicable.All offers and start dates will be subject to successful completion of the required security vetting and clearance process.This is a long-term opportunity on a major infrastructure project in Plymouth, with excellent overtime rates available.
